(713) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ لِبَعْضِ الرَّعِيَّةِ فِي التَّخَلُّفِ عَنِ الْجُمُعَةِ إِذَا اجْتَمَعَ الْعِيدُ وَالْجُمُعَةُ فِي يَوْمٍ وَاحِدٍ،
713| Concession for some to miss Friday prayer if Eid and Friday coincide
Hadith Q1464
إِنْ صَحَّ الْخَبَرُ فَإِنِّي لَا أَعْرِفُ إِيَاسَ بْنَ أَبِي رَمْلَةَ بِعَدَالَةٍ وَلَا جَرْحٍ
Provided that the hadith is authentic, because I do not have knowledge of the criticism and praise (jarh wa ta'dil) regarding Iyas bin Abi Ramla.
Hadith 1464
نَا أَبُو مُوسَى ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ أَبِي رَمْلَةَ ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَسَأَلَ زَيْدَ بْنَ أَرْقَمَ : شَهِدْتَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِيدَيْنِ اجْتَمَعَا فِي يَوْمٍ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، صَلَّى الْعِيدَ فِي أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ ، ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَجْمَعَ فَلْيَجْمَعْ "
It is narrated from Iyās bin Abī Ramla that he was present with Mu‘āwiyah when he asked Sayyidunā Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), "Have you participated with the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in two Eids (Eid and Jumu‘ah) on the same day?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the Eid prayer at the beginning of the day, then he gave permission regarding the Jumu‘ah prayer and said: "Whoever wishes to perform it may do so."
