(700) بَابُ إِشَارَةِ الْخَاطِبِ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ عِنْدَ الدُّعَاءِ فِي الْخُطْبَةِ وَتَحْرِيكِهِ إِيَّاهَا عِنْدَ الْإِشَارَةِ بِهَا
700| Pointing with the index finger on the pulpit during supplication in the sermon and moving it when pointing
Hadith 1450
نَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، نَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذُبَابٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " شَاهِرًا يَدَيْهِ قَطُّ يَدْعُو عَلَى مِنْبَرِهِ وَلا عَلَى غَيْرِهِ ، وَلَكِنْ رَأَيْتُهُ يَقُولُ هَكَذَا : وَأَشَارَ بِأُصْبُعِهِ السَّبَّابَةِ يُحَرِّكُهَا " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ هَذَا أَبُو الْحُوَيْرِثِ مَدَنِيٌّ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) raising his hands while supplicating on his pulpit or elsewhere, but I have seen him doing like this, and he (peace be upon him) gestured by moving his index finger. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that by Abdur Rahman bin Mu’awiyah is meant Abu’l-Huwairith Madani.
