(685) بَابُ إِخْرَاجِ الْعَنَزَةِ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى،
685| Bringing a spear to the prayer place on the two Eids
Hadith 1433
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَرْكُزُ الْحَرْبَةَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَالنَّحْرِ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا ، وَكَانَ يَخْطُبُ بَعْدَ الصَّلاةِ "
Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go out (to the Eid ground) on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha carrying a spear, which he would place as a sutrah (barrier) and then perform the prayer behind it, and after the prayer he would deliver the sermon.
Hadith 1434
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلالٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ ، وَيَوْمَ الأَضْحَى بِالْحَرْبَةِ يَغْرِزُهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ يَقُومُ يُصَلِّي "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha (in the Eidgah) would fix a spear or (lance) in the ground and use it as a sutrah and then perform the prayer.
