جماع أبواب صلاة العيدين، الفطر والأضحى، وما يحتاج فيهما من السننChapters on Eid Prayers and their Sunnahs
(678) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ الْأَكْلِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ الْخُرُوجِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى، وَتَرْكِ الْأَكْلِ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ إِلَى الرُّجُوعِ مِنَ الْمُصَلَّى فَيَأْكُلُ مِنْ ذَبِيحَتِهِ إِنْ كَانَ مِمَّنْ يُضَحِّي
678| Recommendation to eat on Eid al-Fitr before going to the prayer place, and not to eat on Eid al-Adha until after returning and eating from the sacrifice if offering one
Hadith 1426
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، نَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوَابُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ ، نَا ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ لا يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَطْعَمَ ، وَلا يَطْعَمُ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ حَتَّى يَذْبَحَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would not go (to the Eid prayer place) on the day of Eid al-Fitr without eating something. And on the day of Eid al-Adha, he would not eat anything until he had performed the sacrifice.
