Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were present with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when the sun was eclipsed. The Prophet (peace be upon him), due to haste, pulled his cloak and proceeded towards the mosque, and the people also gathered around him. He (peace be upon him) led us in two rak‘ahs as you pray, then when the eclipse cleared, he (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon to us and said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah, with which Allah frightens His servants, and they do not eclipse due to the death of anyone among the people. Therefore, when you see either of them eclipsed, then pray and supplicate until your difficulty is removed."
