Hadith 1358
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Abi Hathmah (may Allah be pleased with him) describes the method of Salat al-Khawf (the prayer of fear): One group will stand behind the Imam, while the other group will stand behind them (facing the enemy). The Imam will lead the group standing behind him in one bowing (ruku‘) and two prostrations (sujud). Then he will remain seated in his place until they complete the second rak‘ah with its two prostrations. Then they will go to the place of their companions, and those companions will come to their place. The Imam will then lead them in one rak‘ah with two prostrations, and then he will remain seated in his place until they complete the second rak‘ah and two prostrations. Then the Imam will say the salam (to conclude the prayer) with this group.
