(591) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الْبَيْعِ وَالشِّرَاءِ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ
The chapter on the prohibition of buying and selling in mosques
Hadith 1304
نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنِ الشِّرَى وَالْبَيْعِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، وَأَنْ يُنْشَدَ فِيهِ الشِّعْرُ ، وَأَنْ يُنْشَدَ فِيهِ الضَّالَّةُ ، وَعَنِ الْحِلَقِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ الصَّلاةِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade buying and selling in the mosque, and (forbade) that poetry be recited in it, and that lost items be announced in it. He also forbade forming circles (for conversation) before the Friday prayer on the day of Jumu’ah.
