(590) بَابُ الْأَمْرِ بِالدُّعَاءِ عَلَى نَاشِدِ الضَّالَّةِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَنْ لَا يُؤَدِّيَهَا اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ
The chapter on the command to supplicate against one seeking a lost item in the mosque, that Allah does not return it to him
Hadith 1302
نَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، نَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مَوْلَى شَدَّادِ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ سَمِعَ رَجُلا يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَلْيَقُلْ لَهُ : لا أَدَّاهَا اللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ ، فَإِنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لَمْ تُبْنَ لِهَذَا " قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ يَحْيَى ، يَقُولُ : أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هَذَا هُوَ سَالِمٌ الدَّوْسِيُّ يُقَالُ لَهُ : سَبَلانُ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever hears a person announcing a lost item in the mosque, let him say to him this (supplication) « لاَ أَدَّاھَا اللهُ عَلَيْكَ » May Allah not return it to you, for the mosques were not built for this purpose."
Hadith 1303
نَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، نَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ " رَجُلا يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَغَضِبَ وَسَبَّهُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ : مَا كُنْتَ فَحَّاشًا يَا ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : إِنَّا كُنَّا نُؤْمَرُ بِذَلِكَ "
Abu Uthman narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) heard a man announcing a lost item in the mosque, so he became very angry and rebuked him harshly. Then a person said to him, "O Ibn Mas'ud, you were not one to use foul language?" He replied, "We were commanded to act in this manner (on such occasions)."
