(588) بَابُ تَقْمِيمِ الْمَسَاجِدِ وَالْتِقَاطِ الْعِيدَانِ وَالْخُرَقِ مِنْهَا وَتَنْظِيفِهَا
The chapter on cleaning mosques and picking up sticks and rags from them
Hadith 1299
نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَوْدَاءَ كَانَتْ تَقُمُّ الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَمَاتَتْ ، فَفَقَدَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْهَا بَعْدَ أَيَّامٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ ، قَالَ : " فَهَلا آذَنْتُمُونِي " ، فَأَتَى قَبْرَهَا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that there was a black woman who used to sweep the mosque. She passed away (and the Companions buried her). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not see her, after a few days he inquired about her. He was informed that she had passed away. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Why did you not inform me?" Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to her grave and offered her funeral prayer.
Hadith 1300
نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ الْقَطَوَانِيُّ ، نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تَلْتَقِطُ الْخِرَقَ وَالْعِيدَانِ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ فِي الصَّلاةِ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman used to pick up scraps and twigs, etc., from the mosque. Then the rest of the hadith is mentioned up to the point of performing prayer at her grave.
