(571) بَابُ صِفَةِ الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَاكِبًا
The chapter on the description of bowing and prostration in prayer while riding
Hadith 1270
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ " يُصَلِّي النَّوَافِلَ فِي كُلِّ وَجْهٍ ، وَلَكِنَّهُ يَخْفِضُ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَيُومِئُ إِيمَاءً "
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performing voluntary prayers on his mount in every direction, but he would bow lower for the two prostrations than for the bowing, and he would perform the prayer by gesturing.
