(569) بَابُ إِبَاحَةِ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ فِي السَّفَرِ عَلَى الْحُمُرِ
The chapter on the permissibility of voluntary prayer on donkeys during travel
Hadith 1268
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى حِمَارٍ ، أَوْ عَلَى حِمَارَةٍ ، وَهُوَ مُتَوَجِّهٌ نَحْوَ خَيْبَرَ " يَعْنِي التَّطَوُّعَ . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : هَذَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الطَّاحِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing a voluntary prayer on a donkey or a she-donkey, while his blessed face was towards Khaybar. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that this is Muhammad bin Dinar, al-Tahi al-Basri.
وَيَخْطِرُ بِبَالِي فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الْحِمَارَ لَيْسَ بِنَجَسٍ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَا يُؤْكَلُ لَحْمُهُ إِذِ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّجِسِ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ
I am thinking about this hadith that the donkey is not impure, even though its meat is not eaten, because it is not permissible to pray on something impure.
Hadith 1268
وَيَخْطِرُ بِبَالِي فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الْحِمَارَ لَيْسَ بِنَجَسٍ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَا يُؤْكَلُ لَحْمُهُ إِذِ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَى النَّجِسِ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ
