(543) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ تَأْخِيرِ صَلَاةِ الضُّحَى
The chapter on the recommendation to delay Duha prayer
Hadith 1227
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، نَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ ، نَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ الضُّحَى فِي مَسْجِدِ قُبَاءَ حِينَ أَشْرَقَتِ الشَّمْسُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلاةُ الأَوَّابِينَ إِذَا رَمِضَتِ الْفِصَالُ " . وَحَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : نَحْوَهُ
Zaid bin Arqam narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came upon a group of people while they were performing the Duha prayer in the Quba Mosque after the sun had risen. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The prayer of the Awabeen should be performed at the time when the young camel feels the heat." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) also narrated a similar hadith from Zaid bin Arqam through another chain of transmission.
