جماع أبواب التطوع غير ما تقدم ذكرنا لهاChapters on Other Voluntary Prayers
(533) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ الصَّلَاةِ عِنْدَ الذَّنْبِ يُحْدِثُهُ الْمَرْءُ لِتَكُونَ تِلْكَ الصَّلَاةُ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا أَحْدَثَ مِنَ الذَّنْبِ
The chapter on the recommendation to pray after committing a sin so that the prayer expiates the sin
Hadith 1209
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا فَدَعَا بِلالا ، فَقَالَ : " يَا بِلالُ ! بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ، إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي " ، فَقَالَ بِلالٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا أَذْنَبْتُ قَطُّ إِلا صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَا أَصَابَنِي حَدَثٌ قَطُّ إِلا تَوَضَّأْتُ عِنْدَهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بِهَذَا "
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the morning called Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "O Bilal, by which deed have you preceded me to Paradise? Indeed, last night I entered Paradise and I heard your footsteps ahead of me." So Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "O Messenger of Allah, whenever I committed a sin, I performed two rak‘ahs, and whenever my ablution broke, I would immediately perform ablution." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "It is because of this deed (that you have preceded)."
