(523) بَابُ فَضْلِ التَّطَوُّعِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ
The chapter on the virtue of voluntary prayer between Maghrib and Isha
Hadith 1194
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّبَالِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْرَائِيلُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ " أَنَّهُ صَلَّى مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى حَتَّى صَلَّى الْعِشَاءُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he offered the Maghrib prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) continued to offer voluntary prayers until he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed the ‘Isha prayer.
Hadith 1195
قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : وَرَوَاهُ عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي خَثْعَمٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ صَلَّى سِتَّ رَكَعَاتٍ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ لا يَتَكَلَّمُ بَيْنَهُنَّ بِشَيْءٍ إِلا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عُدِلْنَ لَهُ بِعِبَادَةِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً " . حَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي خَثْعَمٍ الْيَمَامِيِّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، ح وَثناهُ حَفْصُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّبَالِيُّ ، نَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي خَثْعَمٍ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ الرَّبَالِيَّ ، قَالَ : لا يَتَكَلَّمُ بَيْنَهُمَا بِسُوءٍ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever offers six units of voluntary prayer after the Maghrib prayer, and does not engage in any conversation between them except the remembrance of Allah, then these units will be equal to twelve years of worship for him." In the narration of Janab al-Rabali, the words are: "He offers the prayer without saying anything bad between them."
