(483) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ بَعْدَ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَالْوُضُوءِ تَحُلَّانِ الْعُقَدَ كُلَّهَا الَّتِي يَعْقِدُهَا الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى قَافِيَةِ النَّائِمِ
The chapter on the evidence that two units of night prayer after remembrance and ablution untie all the knots Satan ties on the back of the sleeper's head
Hadith 1132
نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ قُرَّةَ بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مَطَرٍ الرِّمَّاحُ ، نَا أَبِي ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا نَامَ عَقَدَ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَيْهِ ثَلاثَ عُقَدٍ ، فَإِنْ تَعَارَّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَذَكَرَ اللَّهَ ، حُلَّتْ عُقْدَةٌ فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأَ حُلَّتْ عُقْدَتَانِ فَإِنْ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، حُلَّتِ الْعُقَدُ كُلُّهَا ، فَحُلُّوا عُقَدَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، وَلَوْ بِرَكْعَتَيْنِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when a servant sleeps, Satan ties three knots upon him. Then, if he wakes up during the night and remembers Allah, one knot is untied; if he performs ablution, two knots are untied; then if he performs two units of prayer, all the knots are untied. Therefore, untie the knots of Satan, even if it is with just two units of prayer."
