Hadith 1116
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qais bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed the morning prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he had not performed the two Sunnah of Fajr. Then, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished the prayer with salam, he stood up and performed the two Sunnah of Fajr while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was looking at him, but he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not stop him from doing so. It is narrated from the grandfather of Janab Sa’d, Sayyiduna Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), that he performed the morning prayer with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then he stood up to perform two rak’ahs (Sunnah). So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked: “Which two rak’ahs are these?” He replied, “O Messenger of Allah, these are the two Sunnah of Fajr, I was not able to perform them, so these are those two rak’ahs.” Thus, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) remained silent.
