(448) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْخَبَرِ الْمُفَسِّرِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَجْلِسُ إِلَّا فِي الْخَامِسَةِ إِذَا أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسٍ
The chapter explaining that the Prophet only sat in the fifth unit when praying five for Witr
Hadith 1077
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً يُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِخَمْسٍ ، لا يَجْلِسُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخُمُسِ إِلا فِي الْخَامِسَةِ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray thirteen rak'ahs at night, out of which he would pray five rak'ahs as Witr, and in these five rak'ahs, he would sit for (Tashahhud) only in the fifth rak'ah.
