(447) بَابُ إِبَاحَةِ الْوِتْرِ بِخَمْسِ رَكَعَاتٍ، وَصِفَةِ الْجُلُوسِ فِي الْوِتْرِ إِذَا أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسِ رَكَعَاتٍ، وَهَذَا مِنَ اخْتِلَافِ الْمُبَاحِ
The chapter on the permissibility of Witr with five units, and how to sit if praying five, as this is among permissible differences
Hadith 1076
نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نَا يَحْيَى ، نَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ " صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسِ سَجَدَاتٍ يَعْنِي رَكَعَاتٍ ، لا يُسَلِّمُ فِيهِنَّ ، فَيَجْلِسُ فِي الآخِرَةِ ، ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ " هَذَا حَدِيثُ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ وَقَالَ بُنْدَارٌ : وَيُوتِرُ مِنْهُنَّ بِخَمْسٍ ، وَلا يُسَلِّمُ إِلا فِي آخِرِهِنَّ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray thirteen rak‘ahs at night. He (peace be upon him) would perform five rak‘ahs of Witr, and he would not say salam between them; in the last rak‘ah, he would sit for (tashahhud), then say salam. This is the hadith of Abu Usamah. The wording of the narration from Janab Bundar is: And he (peace be upon him) would perform five rak‘ahs of Witr from among them, and in the last rak‘ah he would say salam.
