Hadith 991
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ الأَحْوَلِ الْبَاهِلِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَرْقُدُ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ أَوْ يَغْفُلُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَ : " كَفَّارَتُهَا يُصَلِّيهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا " وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدَةَ : عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، وَقَالَ أَيْضًا : أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a person who sleeps through the prayer or forgets it (so what should he do?). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its expiation is that when he remembers it, he should perform it."
أَوْ نَسِيَهَا مِنَ الْغَدِ لِوَقْتِهَا بَعْدَ قَضَائِهَا عِنْدَ الِاسْتِيقَاظِ أَوْ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهَا، أَمْرُ فَضِيلَةٍ لَا أَمْرُ عَزِيمَةٍ وَفَرِيضَةٍ، إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَعْلَمَ أَنَّ كَفَّارَةَ نِسْيَانِ الصَّلَاةِ أَوِ النَّوْمَ عَنْهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا النَّائِمُ إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا، وَأَعْلَمَ أَنْ لَا كَفَّارَةَ لَهَا إِلَّا ذَلِكَ
Or if he forgets it, then on the next day at its time after making it up upon waking or upon remembering it, this is a matter of virtue, not a matter of strict obligation and requirement, since the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has informed that the expiation for forgetting the prayer or sleeping through it is that the one who slept should pray it when he remembers it, and he has informed that there is no expiation for it except that.
Hadith 991
أَوْ نَسِيَهَا مِنَ الْغَدِ لِوَقْتِهَا بَعْدَ قَضَائِهَا عِنْدَ الِاسْتِيقَاظِ أَوْ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهَا، أَمْرُ فَضِيلَةٍ لَا أَمْرُ عَزِيمَةٍ وَفَرِيضَةٍ، إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَعْلَمَ أَنَّ كَفَّارَةَ نِسْيَانِ الصَّلَاةِ أَوِ النَّوْمَ عَنْهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا النَّائِمُ إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا، وَأَعْلَمَ أَنْ لَا كَفَّارَةَ لَهَا إِلَّا ذَلِكَ

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about a person who sleeps through the prayer or forgets it (so what should he do?). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its expiation is that when he remembers it, he should perform it."
Hadith 992
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاةً ، أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا ، فَكَفَّارَتُهَا أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا " . حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ بِمِثْلِهِ
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever forgets to perform a prayer or sleeps through it (without performing it), its expiation is that he should offer it as soon as he remembers."
Hadith 993
حَدَّثَنَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا ، لا كَفَّارَةَ لَهَا إِلا ذَلِكَ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever forgets to perform a prayer should offer it when he remembers it; this is its expiation."
