(395) بَابُ صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ الْمَرِيضِ مُضْطَجِعًا إِذَا لَمْ يَقْدِرْ عَلَى الْقِيَامِ وَلَا عَلَى الْجُلُوسِ
395 Chapter: How the Sick Person Prays Lying Down If Unable to Stand or Sit.
Hadith 979
نَا سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ ابْنُ عِيسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكٍ كِلاهُمَا ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ طَهْمَانَ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ بِي النَّاصُورُ ، فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الصَّلاةِ ، فَقَالَ : " صَلِّ قَائِمًا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَجَالِسًا ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَسْتَطِعْ فَعَلَى جَنْبٍ " وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : كَانَتْ لِي بَوَاسِيرُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I had hemorrhoids, so I asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about how to perform the prayer. He (peace be upon him) said: "Pray standing; if you are not able to stand, then pray sitting; and if you are not able to sit, then pray lying on your side." In the narration of Muhammad bin Isa, the word "bawasir" (hemorrhoids) is used instead of "nasoor" (fistula)—(the meaning is the same).
