Hadith 966
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) combined the prayers during the journey of the Battle of Tabuk, so he (peace be upon him) combined and performed the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers together. (Janab Abu al-Tufayl) says that I asked, "Why did he (peace be upon him) do so?" So Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) replied that he (peace be upon him) did not want to put his Ummah into hardship and difficulty.
Hadith 967
A narration similar to the one mentioned above is also reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
