(327) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي بَصْقِ الْمُصَلِّي خَلْفَهُ، و
327 Chapter: Permission for the Worshipper to Spit Behind Him.
Hadith Q876
َفِيهِ مَا دَلَّ عَلَى إِبَاحَةِ لَيِّ الْمُصَلِّي عُنُقَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَبْصُقَ فِي صَلَاتِهِ، إِذِ الْبَزْقُ خَلْفَهُ غَيْرُ مُمْكِنٍ إِلَّا بِلَيِّ الْعُنُقِ
And in this is evidence that it is permissible for the one praying to turn his neck backwards when he intends to spit, because spitting backwards is not possible without turning the neck.
Hadith 876
نَا بُنْدَارٌ ، وَأَبُو مُوسَى ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَهُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُحَارِبِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي الصَّلاةِ فَلا تَبْزُقَنَّ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ ، وَلَكِنْ خَلْفَكَ ، أَوْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ ، أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِكَ الْيُسْرَى " . هَذَا حَدِيثُ بُنْدَارٍ ، وَقَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي مَنْصُورٌ ، وَقَالَ أَيْضًا ، قَالَ ، قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَقَالَ : " وَابْصُقْ خَلْفَكَ أَوْ تِلْقَاءَ شِمَالِكَ إِنْ كَانَ فَارِغًا وَإِلا فَهَكَذَا ، تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى "
Sayyiduna Tariq bin Abdullah Muharibi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When you are in prayer, do not spit to your right side, but spit behind you or to your left side or under your left foot." This is the narration of Bundar. Abu Musa says that Mansur narrated to me and also said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to me: "Spit behind you, or spit to your left side if it is empty (i.e., if there is no other worshipper), otherwise spit under your left foot in this manner."
