(312) بَابُ الْأَمْرِ بِالتَّسْبِيحِ لِلرِّجَالِ، وَالتَّصْفِيقِ لِلنِّسَاءِ عِنْدَ النَّائِبَةِ تَنُوبُهُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
312 Chapter: Command for Men to Say "Subhanallah" and for Women to Clap When Something Happens in Prayer.
Hadith 854
نَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا حَازِمٍ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ح حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَابَهُ فِي صَلاتِهِ شَيْءٌ ، فَلْيَقُلْ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّمَا هَذَا لِلنِّسَاءِ " يَعْنِي التَّصْفِيقَ هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَشْرَمٍ وَأَمَّا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ فَحَدَّثَنَا بِالْحَدِيثِ بِطُولِهِ فِي خُرُوجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، وَقَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا لَكُمْ حِينَ نَابَكُمْ شَيْءٌ فِي صَلاتِكُمْ صَفَّقْتُمْ ، إِنَّمَا هَذَا لِلنِّسَاءِ ، مَنْ نَابَهُ فِي صَلاتِهِ شَيْءٌ فَلْيَقُلْ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : التَّصْفِيقُ وَالتَّصْفِيحُ وَاحِدٌ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If something happens to someone during his prayer, he should say « سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه », and clapping is for women.” This is the narration of Ali bin Khushram. While Abdul Jabbar narrated to us the complete hadith regarding the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) going to Banu Amr bin Awf, and at the end of it, he mentioned these words: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “What is the matter with you that when something happens to you in prayer, you start clapping? Clapping is for women; whoever encounters something in prayer should say « سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه ».” Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that tasfiq and tasfih both mean the same (i.e., clapping).
