Hadith 830
قَدْ تَوَهَّمَ بَعْضُ مَنْ لَمْ يَتَبَحَّرِ الْعِلْمَ أَنَّهُ خِلَافُ أَخْبَارِ عَائِشَةَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَأَنَا مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ
Some people with little knowledge have imagined that these ahadith are contrary to the hadith of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that "The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray while I was lying between him (peace be upon him) and the Qiblah."
نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، نَا يُونُسُ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، وَمَنْصُورٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ زَاذَانَ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، نَا شُعْبَةُ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا هِلالُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، نَا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، وَيُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ , وَحَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ، وَحَدَّثَنَا الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الزِّنَادِ ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْخَطَّابِ زِيَادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ يَعْنِي الْعَدَوِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ : يَقْطَعُ الصَّلاةَ الْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ ، قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ : مَا بَالُ الْكَلْبِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الأَبْيَضِ مِنَ الأَصْفَرِ مِنَ الأَحْمَرِ ؟ قَالَ : يَا ابْنَ أَخِي ، سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ "
Abdullah bin Samit reports that Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A donkey, a woman, and a black dog break the prayer. I asked, "O Abu Dharr, what is the distinction of a black dog over a white, yellow, or red dog (that the prayer is broken by it and not by the others passing)?" He replied, "My nephew, I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) just as you have asked me, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'The black dog is a devil.'"
خَبَرِ عَائِشَةَ إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا أَرَادَ أَنَّ مُرُورَ الْكَلْبِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالْحِمَارِ يَقْطَعُ صَلَاةَ الْمُصَلِّي لَا ثُوِيَّ الْكَلْبِ وَلَا رَبْضَهُ وَلَا رَبْضَ الْحِمَارِ، وَلَا اضْطِجَاعَ الْمَرْأَةِ يَقْطَعُ صَلَاةَ الْمُصَلِّي، وَعَائِشَةُ إِنَّمَا أَخْبَرَتْ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَضْطَجِعُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، لَا أَنَّهَا مَرَّتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
The report of Aisha: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, only intended that the passing of a dog, a woman, and a donkey cuts off the prayer of the one who is praying, not the staying of the dog, nor its lying down, nor the lying down of the donkey, nor the lying down of the woman cuts off the prayer of the one who is praying. And Aisha only reported that she used to lie down in front of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was praying, not that she passed in front of him.
Hadith 831
نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، نَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الشَّامِيُّ ، نَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " تُعَادُ الصَّلاةُ مِنْ مَمَرِّ الْحِمَارِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْكَلْبِ الأَسْوَدِ " قُلْتُ : مَا بَالُ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الأَصْفَرِ ، مِنَ الْكَلْبِ الأَحْمَرِ ، فَقَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ "
Abdullah bin Samit رحمه الله narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr رضی اللہ عنہ that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: "The prayer will be invalidated if a donkey, a woman, or a black dog passes in front of the one praying." I asked, "Is there a difference between a black dog and a yellow or red dog?" He replied, "I asked the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم just as you have asked me, and he said: 'The black dog is a devil.'"
