(269) بَابُ التَّغْلِيظِ فِي إِسْبَالِ الْأُزُرِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
269 Chapter: Strictness Regarding Letting the Lower Garment Hang Low in Prayer.
Hadith 781
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ الْحَدَّادِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، نا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى صَلاةِ رَجُلٍ يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : قَدِ اخْتَلَفُوا فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، خَرَّجْتُ هَذَا الْبَابَ فِي كِتَابِ اللِّبَاسِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah does not look towards the prayer of the person who drags his lower garment out of pride and arrogance." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that there is a difference among the narrators regarding the chain of this hadith; some have narrated it from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) instead of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both).
