Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah

Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I said, “O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), sometimes I go out for hunting and the time for prayer comes while I am wearing only a shirt.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Tie it, even if you have to fasten it with a thorn.”

Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I said: I go out for hunting and I have on me only a shirt or a cloak, should I tie it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Yes, even if you tie it with a thorn.” On another occasion, he said: “Fasten it (tie it), even if it is with a thorn.” Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Musa bin Ibrahim refers to Ibn Abdur Rahman bin Abdullah bin Abi Rabee’ah. ‘Ataaf bin Khalid has also mentioned his lineage in this way. However, in my opinion, his lineage is as follows: Ibn Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman bin Ma’mar bin Abi Rabee’ah. His father Ibrahim is the one whom Shurahbil bin Sa’d mentioned, that he and Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman bin Ma’mar bin Abi Rabee’ah presented themselves before Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and this is mentioned in a long hadith.
