(191) بَابُ التَّجَافِي فِي السُّجُودِ.
Chapter 191: Spreading the limbs in prostration
Hadith 648
نا مُحَمَّدٌ ، وَسَعْدٌ ابْنَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ الْمِصْرِيَّانِ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، أَخْبَرَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ بُحَيْنَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا صَلَّى فَرَّجَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ إِبْطَاهُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik Buhaina (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer, he would spread his hands (so much) that his armpits would become visible.
Hadith 649
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا سَجَدَ جَافَى حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed prostration, he would keep his arms away from his sides to such an extent that the whiteness of his armpits became visible.
Hadith 650
نا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مِمَّا كُنْتُ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْفُضَيْلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ ، وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَرِيزٍ ، أَنَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَدِيَّ بْنَ عَمِيرَةَ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، قَالَ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا سَجَدَ يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ " . نَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، نا الْمُعْتَمِرُ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْفُضَيْلِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَرِيزٍ بِمِثْلِهِ ، وَقَالَ : " يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطِهِ "
Hazrat Adi bin Umairah al-Hadrami narrates that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed prostration, the whiteness of his armpits would be visible. In the narration of the Imam’s teacher, Muhammad bin Abdul A’la San’ani, these words are mentioned: the whiteness of his (peace be upon him) armpit would be seen.
