جماع أبواب الأذان والإقامةChapters on Adhan and Iqamah
(182) بَابُ إِثْبَاتِ الْيَدَيْنِ مَعَ الْوَجْهِ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّي إِلَى مَوْضِعِهِ.
Chapter 182: Keeping the hands and face on the ground until every bone settles in its place
Hadith 638
نا مُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، أنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَلادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ رِفَاعَةَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ الطَّوِيلِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِلرَّجُلِ الَّذِي صَلَّى وَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِعَادَةِ الصَّلاةِ ، قَالَ : " ثُمَّ إِذَا أَنْتَ سَجَدْتَ ، فَأَثْبِتْ وَجْهَكَ وَيَدَيْكَ حَتَّى يَطْمَئِنَّ كُلُّ عَظْمٍ مِنْكَ إِلَى مَوْضِعِهِ "
In the lengthy hadith of Sayyiduna Rifa’ah (may Allah be pleased with him), these words are narrated: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the man who had prayed and whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed to repeat the prayer: "Then when you prostrate, make your face and both hands firm, until every bone (of your body) is settled and at ease in its place."
