(177) بَابُ وَضْعِ الْيَدَيْنِ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ فِي السُّجُودِ إِذْ هُمَا يَسْجُدَانِ كَسُجُودِ الْوَجْهِ.
Chapter 177: Placing the hands on the ground in prostration, as they prostrate like the face
Hadith 630
نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، وَزِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، وَمُؤَمَّلُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، أنا أَيُّوبُ ، وَقَالَ الْمُؤَمَّلُ : عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، رَفَعَهُ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْيَدَيْنِ تَسْجُدَانِ كَمَا يَسْجُدُ الْوَجْهُ ، فَإِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَجْهَهُ ، فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَهُ ، فَلْيَرْفَعْهُمَا "
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates a marfu’ hadith that indeed both hands prostrate just as the face prostrates. Therefore, when any one of you places his face (on the ground), he should also place both his hands, and when he raises his face, he should also raise both of them.
