(174) بَابُ ذِكْرِ خَبَرٍ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَدْئِهِ بِوَضْعِ الْيَدَيْنِ قَبْلَ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ
Chapter 174: Report of the Prophet starting with the hands before the knees when prostrating
Hadith 627
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ تَمَامٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبُغُ ابْنُ الْفَرَجِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يَضَعُ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to place his hands on the ground before his knees and used to say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did likewise.
