Hazrat Ata narrates that I heard Sayyiduna Abu Humayd As-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him), in the presence of ten companions, among whom was Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) as well, that Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I know the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) better than you." Indeed, when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would stand for prayer... then he narrated a part of the hadith, and said: "Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would say « اللهُ أَكْبَرُ », then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would bend towards the ground and keep his two arms apart from his sides." Muhammad bin Yahya (in his narration) stated these words: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) would bend towards the ground, keeping his two arms away from his sides." Muhammad bin Yahya added: "Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would prostrate." All the companions said: "You have spoken the truth; the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray in this manner."
