Hadith Q568
ضِدَّ قَوْلِ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ السَّجْدَةَ عَلَى مَنِ اسْتَمَعَ لَهَا وَأَنْصَتَ.
Contrary to the statement of the person who assumes that prostration becomes obligatory upon the one who listens attentively and silently to the recitation of the verse of prostration.
Hadith 568
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I recited « سورۃ النجم » to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but he did not perform the prostration of recitation. The Imam also narrates this report from Abu Sakhr through two different chains, that it is narrated from Ata bin Yasar that he asked Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), so he replied: Indeed, he recited « وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ » [ سورة النجم ] to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but he did not perform the prostration of recitation.
