(109) بَابُ ذِكْرِ قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ.
Chapter 109: Reciting Qur’an in the first two rak‘ahs of Dhuhr and Asr
Hadith 510
نا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، نا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ بِ اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى ، وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا وَنَحْوِهَا ، وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الصُّبْحِ بِأَطْوَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ "
Samaak bin Harb reports that I heard Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah « وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ » [ سورة الليل ] and « وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا » [ سورة الشمس ] and similar surahs in Dhuhr and Asr prayers.
Hadith 511
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَاضِي مَرْوَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ الأَسْلَمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ بِ إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انْشَقَّتْ وَنَحْوِهَا "
Hazrat Abdullah bin Buraidah Aslami narrates from his respected father, Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah « إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ » [ سورة الإنشقاق ] and similar surahs in the Zuhr prayer, and in the Fajr prayer he used to recite longer passages than this.
Hadith 512
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ رِبْعِيٍّ الْقَيْسِيُّ ، نا رَوْحُ بْنُ عِبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، وَثَابِتٌ ، وَحُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا " يَسْمَعُونَ مِنْهُ النَّغَمَةَ فِي الظُّهْرِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى ، وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that in the Zuhr prayer, he used to hear the recitation of Surah « سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى » [ سورة الأعلى ] and « هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ » [ سورة الغاشية ] from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with melody.
