Hadith Q437
And this matter is of the same kind about which we say that the Arabs use the same name for two different things.
Hadith 437
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I performed prayer facing Bayt al-Maqdis for sixteen months in the company of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he narrated the complete hadith. Abu Ishaq says that Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) said that in our view, « شطر» means direction and side.
Hadith 438
Hazrat Amr bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) recited (this verse) in this way: "Can we compel you to this matter from our side?" I have explained this aspect in detail in the Book of Tafsir.
