(43) بَابُ الِانْحِرَافِ فِي الْأَذَانِ عِنْدَ قَوْلِ الْمُؤَذِّنِ حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ
Chapter 43: Turning during the adhan when saying "Hayya ‘ala as-salah, hayya ‘ala al-falah"
Hadith Q387
وَالدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا يَنْحَرِفُ بِفِيهِ لَا بِبَدَنِهِ كُلِّهِ وَإِنَّمَا يُمْكِنُ الِانْحِرَافُ بِالْفَمِ بِانْحِرَافِ الْوَجْهِ
And the explanation of the evidence that the muezzin will turn only with his mouth, not with his whole body, and turning with the mouth is possible by turning the face.
Hadith 387
نا نا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عَوْنٍ وَهُوَ بْنُ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ بِلالا يُؤَذِّنُ فَيَتْبَعُ بِفِيهِ " ، وَوَصَفَ سُفْيَانُ : يَمِيلُ بِرَأْسِهِ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالا . نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الأَزْرَقُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ وَهُوَ فِي قُبَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ ، وَعِنْدَهُ نَاسٌ يَسِيرُ ، فَجَاءَ بِلالٌ فَأَذَّنَ ، ثُمَّ حَوَّلَ يَتْبَعُ فَاهُ هَهُنَا ، يَعْنِي بِقَوْلِهِ : حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ . وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ : فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ فِي أَذَانِهِ هَكَذَا ، وَيُحَرِّفُ رَأْسَهُ ، يَمِينًا وَشِمَالا بِحَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ . نَاهُ سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ
Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I saw Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) giving the adhan, and he was turning his mouth (to the right and left). Sufyan described its manner and said that he was turning his head to the right and left. Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I presented myself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the place of Batha while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in a red tent and there were only a few people with him. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came and gave the adhan, then while saying « حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ », he turned his face to the right and left. In this narration, Thawri says that while saying « حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ » in his adhan, he turned his head to the right and left.
