Chapter 20: Warning against delaying Asr without necessity
Hadith 335
نا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، نا الزُّهْرِيُّ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الَّذِي تَفُوتُهُ صَلاةُ الْعَصْرِ ، كَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ " ، قَالَ مَالِكٌ : تَفْسِيرُهُ ذَهَابُ الْوَقْتِ
Hazrat Salim narrates from his respected father Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever misses the Asr prayer, it is as if his family and wealth have been destroyed." Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) says that its explanation is that he performs the prayer after its time has passed.
