(16) بَابُ اخْتِيَارِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا، بِذِكْرِ خَبَرٍ لَفْظُهُ لَفْظٌ عَامٌّ مُرَادُهُ خَاصٌّ.
Chapter 16: Preferring to pray at the beginning of its time, with a general wording but a specific meaning
Hadith 327
نا بُنْدَارُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، نا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الصَّلاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which deed is the best?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To perform the prayer at its earliest time (is the best)."
