Chapter 225: Sprinkling clothing for pre-seminal fluid if its location is unknown
Hadith 291
نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَّانَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذْيِ شِدَّةً وَعَناءً ، وَكُنْتُ أُكْثِرُ الاغْتِسَالَ مِنْهُ ، فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ الْوُضُوءُ " ، قُلْتُ : فَكَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ تَنْضَحُ بِهِ مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ " . وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدِيثُ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَنِ الْمَذْيِ ، قَالَ : " فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ " ، قُلْتُ : أَرَأَيْتَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثِيَابَنَا ؟ قَالَ : " يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَنْضَحَ بِهِ ثَوْبَكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ " ، قَدْ أَمْلَيْتُهُ قَبْلَ أَبْوَابِ الْمَذْيِ
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I used to face great hardship and difficulty because of madhi (pre-seminal fluid). And due to it, I used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) frequently. Then I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, so he (peace be upon him) said: "It is sufficient for you to perform wudu (ablution)." I said: If madhi gets on my clothes, how should I clean it? He (peace be upon him) said: "It is sufficient for you to take a handful of water and sprinkle it on the place on your clothes where you think madhi has touched." Ibn Aban says that Sa'id bin Ubaid bin Sabbaq narrated this hadith to me. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the hadith of Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him), that he asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about madhi, (so he, peace be upon him, said) one should perform wudu. I said: What is your ruling about that which gets on our clothes? He (peace be upon him) said: "It is sufficient for you to take a handful of water and sprinkle it on your clothes where you think madhi has touched." I have already dictated regarding madhi before the chapters.
