Chapter 220: Washing a girl’s urine from clothing
Hadith 282
نا نَصْرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ، نا أَسَدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ تَمَّامٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ قَابُوسَ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُخَارِقِ ، عَنْ لُبَابَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ ، قَالَتْ : بَالَ الْحُسَيْنُ فِي حِجْرِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : هَاتِ ثَوْبَكَ ، هَاتِ أَغْسِلْهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الأُنْثَى ، وَيُنْضَحُ بَوْلُ الذَّكَرِ "
Hazrat Lubabah bint Al-Harith narrates that Sayyiduna Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) urinated in the lap of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so I said, "Give me your garment, let me wash it." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A girl's urine is washed, and a boy's urine is sprinkled with water."
Hadith 283
نا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَظِيمِ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحِلُّ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ الطَّائِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو السَّمْحِ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ خَادِمَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَجِيءَ بِالْحَسَنِ ، أَوِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، فَبَالَ عَلَى صَدْرِهِ ، فَأَرَادُوا أَنْ يَغْسِلُوهُ ، فَقَالَ : " رُشُّوهُ رَشًّا ، فَإِنَّهُ يُغْسَلُ بَوْلُ الْجَارِيَةِ ، وَيُرَشُّ بَوْلُ الْغُلامِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Samh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was the servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Hasan or Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) was brought, and he urinated on the blessed chest of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) wanted to wash it, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Sprinkle water over it, because the urine of a girl is washed, and the urine of a boy is sprinkled with water."
