Hadith Q258
Rather, the Prophet ﷺ performed ghusl to find relief from the distress that befell him in a state of unconsciousness, so that his blessed body would become balanced and calm.

Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said during his illness in which he passed away: "Pour water over me from seven water-skins whose knots have not been untied. Perhaps I will feel relief and advise the people." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that we seated the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Lady Hafsa's (may Allah be pleased with her) copper tub and poured water from those water-skins over him until he (peace and blessings be upon him) began to gesture that you have fulfilled the instruction (i.e., stop). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went outside. The Imam narrates this above-mentioned narration from his teacher Muhammad bin Yahya from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), but he did not say « من نحاس » "copper tub," although he did narrate this hadith from Urwah. (Whereas in the previous chain, it was narrated from Urwah or Amrah.)
