(197) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ غُسْلِ الْكَافِرِ إِذَا أَسْلَمَ بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ
Chapter 197: Recommendation for a new Muslim to bathe with water and lotus leaves
Hadith 254
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ بُنْدَارٌ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الأَغَرِّ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ، عَنْ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ ، " فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qais bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) that when he accepted Islam, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to perform ghusl (ritual bath) with water and lote tree (berry) leaves.
Hadith 255
نا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الأَغَرِّ ، عَنْ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ ، أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَخْلاهُ ، فَأَسْلَمَ " فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qais bin Asim (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and requested to meet him in private. (The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, met him in private.) So he accepted Islam, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to perform ghusl (ritual bath) with water and lote tree (berry) leaves.
