(189) بَابُ اكْتِفَاءِ صَاحِبِ الْجُمَّةِ وَالشَّعْرِ الْكَثِيرِ بِإِفْرَاغِ ثَلَاثِ حَثَيَاتٍ مِنَ الْمَاءِ عَلَى الرَّأْسِ فِي غُسْلِ الْجَنَابَةِ.
Chapter 189: Sufficiency of three handfuls of water on the head for those with much hair
Hadith 243
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، نا جَعْفَرٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ : سَأَلَنِي ابْنُ عَمِّكَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ، فَقُلْتُ " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلاثًا " ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ شَعْرِي كَثِيرٌ ، فَقُلْتُ : " كَانَ شَعْرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ شَعْرِكَ وَأَطْيَبَ " ، هَذَا حَدِيثُ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ
Hazrat Ja'far, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his father that he said: Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with them both, said to me that your cousin Hasan bin Muhammad asked about the ritual bath (ghusl) after sexual impurity. So I said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pour three handfuls (of water) over his head. He (Hasan) said: My hair is very thick. I said: The hair of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was more and more beautiful than yours. This is the hadith of Yahya bin Sa'id.
