It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to have intercourse with his wives and perform ghusl (ritual bath) only once. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that this hadith is ghareeb (rare). In the well-known chain, Ma'mar narrates from Qatadah.
Hadith 230
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to spend the night with all his wives with a single bath. (The Imam says) Ribati (the narrator) narrated from Mu’ammar and said « يطوف » instead of « يطيف » (the meaning is the same).
Hadith 231
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to visit all his wives, during the night and day, with a single bath, and they were eleven in number. (Qatadah) says that I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace be upon him) have the strength for this?" He replied, "We used to talk among ourselves that the Prophet (peace be upon him) was given the strength of thirty men."
