Chapter 158: Permission for a group to perform ablution from one vessel
Hadith 204
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ ، نا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّكُمْ تَعُدُّونَ الآيَاتِ عَذَابًا ، وَإِنَّا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهَا بَرَكَةً عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَدْ كُنَّا نَأْكُلُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنَحْنُ نَسْمَعُ تَسْبِيحَ الطَّعَامِ ، قَالَ : " وَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِنَاءٍ ، فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ " ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَيَّ عَلَى الطَّهُورِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، وَالْبَرَكَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ " ، حَتَّى تَوَضَّأْنَا كُلُّنَا
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Indeed, you consider the signs (miracles and indications) as punishment, whereas we used to consider them as blessings during the blessed era of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We used to eat food with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and would hear the food glorifying Allah. He said that a vessel of water was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in it, and water began to gush forth from between his fingers. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come towards the blessed water, and the blessing is from Allah, the Exalted." Until all of us performed ablution.
