( 122) بَابُ مَسْحِ جَمِيعِ الرَّأْسِ فِي الْوُضُوءِ
Chapter 122: Wiping the entire head in ablution
Hadith 157
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، نا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ مَالِكًا عَنِ الرَّجُلِ مَسَحَ مُقَدَّمَ رَأْسِهِ فِي الْوُضُوءِ ، أَيُجْزِيهِ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَقَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ ، قَالَ : " مَسَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأْسَهُ فِي وَضُوئِهِ مِنْ نَاصِيَتِهِ إِلَى قَفَاهُ ، ثُمَّ رَدَّ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ كُلَّهُ "
Ishaq bin Isa reports that I asked Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, about a person who only wiped his forehead during ablution; would that be sufficient for him? He replied that Amr bin Yahya bin Amarah narrated to me from his father, and he from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid Mazni, may Allah be pleased with him, that he stated: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wiped his head in ablution from his forehead to the nape of his neck, then returned his hands to his forehead and wiped the entire head.
