‏(‏ 121‏)‏ بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ الْمَسْحَ عَلَى الرَّأْسِ إِنَّمَا يَكُونُ بِمَا يَبْقَى مِنْ بَلَلِ الْمَاءِ عَلَى الْيَدَيْنِ، لَا بِنَفْسِ الْمَاءِ كَمَا يَكُونُ الْغَسْلُ بِالْمَاءِ

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ‏:‏ خَبَرُ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ‏:‏ ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى غَمَرَهَا الْمَاءُ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا بِمَا حَمَلَتْ مِنَ الْمَاءِ، ثُمَّ مَسَحَهَا بِيَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى، ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ بِيَدَيْهِ كِلْتَيْهِمَا أَوْ جَمِيعًا‏.‏
Imam Abu Bakr, may Allah have mercy on him, says: In the narration of ‘Abd Khayr reported from Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, it is mentioned: Then he put his hand into the vessel until it was submerged in the water, then he lifted it up with the water clinging to it, then he rubbed it on his left hand, then he wiped his head with both his hands.
