( 118) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ صَكِّ الْوَجْهِ بِالْمَاءِ عِنْدَ غَسْلِ الْوَجْهِ.
Chapter 118: Recommendation to splash water on the face when washing it
Hadith 153
نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْخَوْلانِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : دَخَلَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيَّ بَيْتِي ، وَقَدْ بَالَ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ ، فَجِئْنَاهُ بِقُعبْ يَأْخُذُ الْمُدَّ أَوْ قَرِيبَهُ ، حَتَّى وُضِعَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَلا أَتَوَضَّأُ لَكَ وُضُوءَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : بَلَى فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي ، قَالَ : " فَوَضَعَ لَهُ إِنَاءً فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ مَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ بِيَمِينِهِ يَعْنِي الْمَاءَ فَصَكَّ بِهَا وَجْهَهُ " . وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me at my house, and he had already urinated. Then he asked for water. We brought to him a large bowl in which a mudd or close to it of water could fit. It was placed before him. Then he said, "O Ibn Abbas, shall I not perform for you the ablution of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" I said, "May my parents be sacrificed for you, certainly do so." He says that a vessel (for ablution) was placed for him, so he washed both his hands, then rinsed his mouth and put water into his nose and expelled it, then took water in his right hand and thoroughly wiped his face with it. And the rest of the hadith was narrated.
