Hadith 125
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that on the day of Hudaybiyyah, the people became thirsty while there was no water, and in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) there was a small leather bucket from which he (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution. Suddenly, the people, in distress, came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and submitted their concern. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What has happened to you?" They replied that they had no water for ablution or drinking, except for the water that was in front of him (peace and blessings be upon him). So he (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand in that bucket and, according to the will of Allah Almighty, supplicated. Thus, water began to gush forth from between his (peace and blessings be upon him) fingers like springs. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we drank to our fill and performed ablution. Hazrat Salim says that he asked Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "How many people were you?" He replied: "We were fifteen hundred, and if there had been one hundred thousand people, that water would have sufficed for all of us."

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a large and thick leather vessel, and a small heart-shaped vessel, were brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution from it. (Janab Amr bin Amir says) I asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution for every prayer?" He replied, "Yes." I asked, "And you people?" He replied, "We used to perform several prayers with one ablution."
