(61) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ الِاسْتِطَابَةِ بِالْيَمِينِ
Chapter 61: Prohibition of cleaning oneself with the right hand
Hadith 78
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ، نا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا شَرِبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلا يَتَنَفَّسْ فِي الإِنَاءِ ، وَإِذَا أَتَى الْخَلاءَ فَلا يَمَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَإِذَا تَمَسَّحَ فَلا يَتَمَسَّحْ بِيَمِينِهِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you drinks (a beverage or the like), he should not breathe into the vessel, and when he relieves himself, he should not touch his private part with his right hand, and when he cleans himself after relieving himself, he should not clean himself with his right hand."
Hadith 79
نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا بَالَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلا يَمَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَلا يَسْتَنْجِ بِيَمِينِهِ ، وَلا يَتَنَفَّسْ فِي الإِنَاءِ " . هَذَا حَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، وَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ فِي كُلِّهَا : عَنْ عَنْ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "When any one of you urinates, he should not touch his private part with his right hand, nor should he clean himself with his right hand, and he should not breathe into the vessel (while drinking)." This is the narration of Amr bin Abi Salamah, and Ali bin Hujr has said « عن عن » throughout the entire chain. (That is, he has not used the word « حدثنا » or « سمع » anywhere.)
