Chapter 56: Dislike of returning greetings to someone urinating
Hadith 73
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، نا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ يَعْنِي الزُّبَيْرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَجُلا مَرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was urinating. The man greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not reply to his greeting.
